Koppi on Nano Challa: “This is a fully washed coffee from the cooperative and washing station Nano Challa in the Agaro region. The cherries are selected from smallholders that grow the trees on around 2000 msal. When collected they pulp and soak the beans under water over night before drying it on raised beds. Most of the coffee growing here are organic by default and it´s very common that they use organic compost. This washing station was established in 2009 with help from Technoserve. They helped the farmers to set up washing stations with eco pulpers and a water treatment system and also created a cooperative structure. The aim of this project was to increase sustainability and quality, to have a transparent and environmentally friendly production.”
